Ensemble Theatre Announces AUDITIONS for the World Premiere production of:

Mama/Moon

Directed by Ian Wolfgang Hinz

When: Saturday October 21st 2pm-4:30pm

Where: Ensemble Theatre.  2843 Washington Blvd.  Cleveland Hts., OH 44118.

What to prepare: One contemporary monologue.

A preponderance of the audition will consist of cold readings from the Mama/Moon script.
Please come dressed to move.

Callbacks: If needed, TBA.

Production Run Dates: March 9th through March 25th

Synopsis:
Amazingly, two Rock and Roll legends, Mama Cass and Keith Moon, both died at age of 32 in
the same London flat about four years apart in the mid-1970's.

MAMA / MOON is the story of the last few hours in each of their lives.
It's a play about Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll. But also about the whirlwind of celebrity and
the all too often side affects of loneliness and addiction on the road to Redemption.

In the first half of MAMA / MOON, Mama Cass Elliot, formerly of The Mamas and The Papas,
and fresh off a career-capping, two week, sold out, solo engagement at the London Palladium,
tries to complete her comeback by enticing a young admirer into becoming the most meaningful
relationship in her life.

In the second half of MAMA / MOON, Keith Moon, the innovative and wildly eccentric and
erratic drummer for the rock band The Who, tries desperately, despite his hell-raising ways, to
hold on to his job, his sanity and his longtime girlfriend, before time runs out.
In the end, Keith and Cass become closer friends than anyone could imagine.

MICHELLE PHILLIPS, 29 - Cass' former band mate/ INGE INGE, 20s - Swedish stewardess / STEWARDESS #1

LENA, 20s - Swedish stewardess / STEWARDESS #2

HONEY, 20s - Keith's Swedish girlfriend

Please Note:
Actors will receive a modest stipend.

This production is the focal production of the 7th annual Colombi New Plays Festival. Actors will be expected to participate in post-show talkbacks and other support activities for this world premiere production during the festival. This production will also be live-streamed via Ensemble’s livestream channel.
