Legally Blonde, the Musical has arrived in Canal Fulton, Ohio on November 16-19
Elle Woods had it made. She was graduating with a 4.0 grade point average in Fashion Merchandising, was the most popular girl in Delta Nu sorority, and had the most eligible bachelor as a boyfriend. Life could not be any better for Elle and all of her sorority sisters led by her good friends, Margot and Serena, just could not wait for the moment that everyone knew was coming. With graduation approaching, Elle was waiting for Warner, her boyfriend, to pop the question so she could advance in social standing and live the dream life in sunny Southern California. That was until Warner told her that he was going to Harvard Law School in far off Massachusetts and that she, meaning Elle, just was not part of his future plans. So he dumped her while dining at a fashionable restaurant. Devastated, Elle returned to her sorority house and went into hiding.

So what does Elle do? As stated, she withdraws from life and holes up in her sorority room. Then, with a little prodding from her friends, Margot and Serena, she reluctantly comes out and starts to revive timidly. That is until she spots a magazine article which sparks her imagination and what an imagination it is. She decides that the only way to win Warner back is to apply, get accepted and attend Harvard Law School. Not to study the law but to win one for LOVE. The only problem is that Harvard Law School has never had a fashion merchandising major as an applicant much less as a student. That is until Elle Woods applies for admission with an unusual marketing campaign. And thus, Elle majestically gains admittance to Harvard Law School, for all of the wrong reasons, which is somehow drummed into her head during the first days at the school.

It is with a great deal of pleasure and pride that the Canal Fulton Players present Elle Woods’ triumphs, tragedies, and travails as she progresses through law school. Played by Kristina Currans, Elle befriends a shy hair dresser (Audrey Lee), a third year law student, who is on the brink of entering the profession (Bryan Steffee), and a fellow law student who looks more at home in a battlefield foxhole than a classroom (Courtney Hardy). With her new friends and her new approach to law school, she battles the old boyfriend’s new girlfriend (Olivia Durell), an arrogant, mean and condescending law professor (Geri Marken-Rogler), and the entire snobby atmosphere of Harvard Law. To tell you more would spoil a fun filled evening at the Puff, which is the performing arts auditorium at Northwest High School, 8580 Erie Avenue North, Canal Fulton, Ohio.

Other members of the cast are Olivia Petrey (Brooke Wyndham, Margot), Jamie Orlando (Serena), Daniel Schmidt (Warner), Cyle Carte (Nikos), Drew Glover (Kyle), Maya McCoy (Chutney), and Jake Sustersic (Carlos). The remainder of the cast makes up the Delta Nu sorority at UCLA, the first year law class at Harvard, and the Greek choir in Elle’s head.

This is a Music Theatre International production. Written by Heather Hach, Laurence O’Keefe, and Nell Benjamin, it is produced by David Van Gaasbeek and directed by Joshua Rowe. Music direction is by Steven Miller. Choreography is by Olivia Petrey. Sean Wirfel is the stage manager.
