[NEohioPAL] Auditions for Touring Production of NEW KID (Local Tour)

Spark Theatre Company, a new theatre for young audiences is seeking
non-equity professionals for our upcoming touring production of *NEW KID*
by Dennis Foon.

*AUDITION DETAILS:*
*Sunday, December 10th 12pm-4pm*
*Monday, December 11th 5pm-9pm*
Stocker Center for the Arts- Cirigliano Studio Theatre
1005 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44054

*Production Dates: May 14th-June 8th, 2018 (MUST have daytime availability)*
*Rehearsal Start Date: April 23rd, 2018 *
Actors will be paid a $500 stipend and college students are also eligible
for Work-Based Learning Credit.
**Please note: this show will be performed within schools and all actors
hired will need to pass a background check & fingerprinting.*

New Kid is the story of Nick, a young boy from an imaginary country called
Homeland who moves to the United States with his family. There, he
struggles with his fear of a new culture and language as well as hostile
classmates who taunt him for being different. The spirit of youth prevails
over differences in color and culture, promoting the message that in the
end, kids are all the same.

*MOTHER- (18+ female, any ethnicity)* Nick's Mother. Kind & Warm.

*NICK- (18+ male to play a child, any ethnicity)* A boy who moves to the
USA from the imaginary country of Homeland.

*MENCH- (18+ female to play a child, any ethnicity)* A girl who befriends
Nick.

*MUG- (18+ male to play a child, any ethnicity)* A boy who is reluctant to
accept his new classmate, Nick.

Auditions are by appointment, walk-ins will be seen as time permits.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. To schedule an
