"The Importance of Being Earnest"

About the Show:

The Importance of Being Earnest is the most renowned of Oscar Wilde's comedies. It's the story of two bachelors, John 'Jack' Worthing and Algernon 'Algy' Moncrieff, who create alter egos named Ernest to escape their tiresome lives. They attempt to win the hearts of two women who, conveniently, claim to only love men called Ernest. The pair struggle to keep up with their own stories and become tangled in a tale of deception, disguise and misadventure. The elaborate plot ridicules Victorian sensibilities with some of the best loved, and indeed bizarre, characters<http://www.importanceofbeingearnest.co.uk/characters/> to be found on the modern stage.

Monday & Tuesday, February 19 & 20, 2018 - 6:30 pm

Performance Dates:
April 20-29, 2018
Fridays/Saturdays 7:30 pm; Sundays 2:00 pm in the Corning Auditorium.
NOTE:  There will be a 1:00 senior matinee on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

  *   Cold readings from the script.  Please be familiar with the show.
  *   Must be available for all performances, including the senior matinee.
  *   Bring a headshot or snapshot of yourself to attach to our paperwork.

Casting Information:

1 woman - age 18

3 women - ages 25-65

5 men - ages 25-65

ALL roles are available.

The Fine Arts Association supports non-traditional casting.

No AEA contracts available for this production.
