Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, *A Midsummer Night’s Dream*, opens at 8
pm Mar. 2 for a limited engagement, Fridays and Saturdays through Mar. 10
at Aurora Community Theatre, 115 E. Pioneer Trail.

The play portrays the adventures of four young lovers, a troupe of amateur
actors, and interfering woodland sprites in three interlocking plots
connected by the celebration of the wedding of a duke and a queen. Set both
in mythical Athens and an enchanted forest, the play features star-crossed
lovers, a handsome fairy king, a misguided parent, a weaver transformed
into a half donkey plus fairies and elves.

Performed widely around the world, the play celebrates the universal
double-edged delight of falling in love. For as Lysander says, “*The course
of true love never did run smooth*,” and as Puck knows well, falling in
love can make fools of us all.
