Audition Intensive

AGE: TEEN INTENSIVE: 13YRS* (8TH Grade) – 19YRS (12TH Grade)
*some exceptions will be made for students with previous experience.

This five hour masterclass taught by Artistic Director Pierre Brault will explore what it takes to audition as an early professional actor. The intensive will cover audition etiquette, tips and tricks to help you perform to the best of your ability on the day of the audition, song coachings, and taking direction “in the room,”. Every student will be coached through a song and work at their own pace as they receive individual attention and feedback. Every student will leave the session with an audition and performance-ready 16-bar cut of a musical theater song. This is perfect for the student looking to pursue theater as a serious hobby, or for those considering entering the performing arts.

PRICING: $30.00. MTC offers a sibling discount if more than one child in a family is registered.

Session One Dance Classes:

HIP HOP!
Saturdays: March 3, 10, 17, 24 from 11:00-12:00 PM
AGE: 10YRS-19YRS
Instructor: Melissa Bertolone

Join us for this unique class experience where we integrate the social and freestyle nature of hip hop with technique and fundamentals. Classes will explore the spectrum of hip hop dance, focusing primarily on musicality, fluidity, footwork and choreography. No experience necessary.

MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE (FOSSE)
Saturdays: March 3, 10, 17, 24 from 12:30-1:30 PM
AGE: 13YRS* (8TH Grade) – 19YRS (12TH Grade)
*some exceptions will be made for students with previous experience.

Musical Theatre Dance is a combination of dialogue, acting, dancing and singing. There is an increasing need for individuals trained in these areas. This class allows for students to become well rounded in their dance training by learning adjunct skills to improve their overall performance and style. Musical Theatre will focus on classical jazz technique, facial expression, and showmanship, while learning the choreography of Fosse.

INTERMEDIATE MUSICAL THEATRE TAP
Saturdays: March 3, 10, 17, 24 from 2:00-3:00 PM
AGE: 13YRS* (8TH Grade) – 19YRS (12TH Grade)
*some exceptions will be made for students with previous experience.
Instructor: Liz Baumgartner

Intermediate tappers will finesse their basic tap skills and focus on rhythm and accuracy. The classe will work on musical theater style choreography.

ADVANCED CONTEMPORARY BALLET
Saturdays: March 3, 10, 17, 24 at 3:30-4:30 PM
AGE: 13YRS* (8TH Grade) – 19YRS (12TH Grade)

Contemporary Ballet is a fusion of both Contemporary/Modern Dance and Classical Ballet technique. The world of musical theater has seen a recent rise in the use of contemporary dance as well as ballet and other styles. This class be a 60-minute session consisting of warm-up, across the floor, center, and a continuous combination at the end of each class.

BEGINNER CONTEMPORARY BALLET
Sundays: March 4, 11, 18, 25 at 10:00 AM-11:00 AM
AGE: 8YRS-12 YRS
Instructor: Jake Washabaugh

Contemporary Ballet is a fusion of both Contemporary/Modern Dance and Classical Ballet technique. The world of musical theater has seen a recent rise in the use of contemporary dance as well as ballet and other styles. SENIOR TAP!
Sundays: March 11, 18 and 25th from 12:30 – 1:30 PM
AGE: Must be 55 or over and young at heart.
Instructor: Jacqi Lowey

It’s not too late to be Ginger Rogers (or Fred Astaire)!
Join ex-Broadway dancer Jacqi Loewy for 3 sessions of beginning tap lessons.
Tap shoes not required.

PRICING:
$10 each one (1) hour class
$50 for a six (6) class card (save $10) – 6 Class Card
*If you register for the 6 class option you do not have to attend them consecutively; you can break them up through the month of March.
