GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB  (non-exempt part time)
With direction from the Learning Zone Director, will assist in implementing
practices resulting in a safe and secure environment that supports holistic
learning.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
      Learning Zone Daily Responsibilities:

   1.	Direct supervision and responsibility for children on a daily basis.
   2.	Maintain good working relationships with parents and other staff.
   3. 	Assist  in  the planning and implementation of fun, educational, and
      culturally  relevant  daily activities. All curriculum and activities
      should promote self-esteem.
   4.	Maintain a safe, non judgmental, and consistent environment.
   5. 	Keep  accurate  records  concerning  attendance, child progress, and
      other  information  that  may be required for reports and statistical
      information.
   6.	Conduct assessments on assigned students.
   7. 	Keep  his/her own file in compliance with regulations established by
      the State of Ohio.
   8. 	Any other duties as assigned by the Learning Zone Director, Director
      of Arts and Sciences or Area Coordinators.
   9.	Uphold all policies of The Salvation Army and give the utmost care in
      upholding the philosophy as stated in its mission statement.
   10. 	Represent  The  Salvation  Army  and  its programs with a high
      degree of professionalism.


MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.
·	High School Diploma or Equivalent
·	21 years of age
·	Valid Driver’s License
·	Will be subject to a Background Check


PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

   ·	2 years of experience with children in an educational setting

   ·	College course work in Elementary Education, Agriculture, Music
      Education, Theatre or Visual Arts.
