Steel Magnolias takes Workshop Players back to the 90s with this epic tale
set in Truvy’s beauty parlor. Since everybody who is anybody in Chinquapin,
Louisiana gathers in Truvy’s salon, audiences are treated to a slice of
southern life that is alternately hilarious and touching. Truvy dispenses
free advice to the town curmudgeon Ouiser, the eccentric Miss Clairee and
the practical M’Lynne whose pretty daughter Shelby is about to be married
as the play opens. The sustaining quality of friendship is reinforced as
these women’s stories unfold.

Melissa Hubbard, Mary Manos Mitchem
