[NEohioPAL] RCT is seeking a playwright for the Shakesqueer project

Rubber City Theatre is seeking a playwright for the *Shakesqueer* project.
For this project, a playwright will be commissioned to develop a new play
that is based off of William Shakespeare's *Taming of the Shrew *and
features characters who are members of the LGBTQ+ community. This project
is partially funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part
of the Knight Arts Challenge. More information on the project can be found

The play will have an in-progress reading in December 2018 and it's world
premier in June 2019. Throughout the process, the chosen playwright will
work closely with Rubber City Theatre's Artistic Director in order to
maintain the artistic integrity of the project and alignment with project
goals. As such, local playwrights are preferred but not required.
We are looking for playwrights who have had works performed; having adapted
scripts before is a plus.

Interested playwrights may submit themselves for consideration by sending
the following to dane at rubbercitytheatre.com :

   - a resume highlighting your playwriting experience
   - a short sample of your work
   - a letter of interest describing what about this project interests
   you/why you are a good fit for the project

There is a $5,000 stipend for the project that will be paid out over the
course of the project.
Review of applicants will begin on May 20th.
