The Shake it Up Dance Convention & Review was originated in San Diego California. It was designed to give kids ages 8 and up to adults through age 35 the opportunity to take Master Classes & continuing education classes for dance teachers  in various dance styles, as well as perform in front of a panel of judges for cash prizes & dance scholarships on June 26th.  The first convention date of Master classes is Saturday May 12th. Master Class schedule below. If you would like feedback on your technique, judges will give assessment sheets after class with notes of improvement for dancers. If you want an assessment after class, please email or call us today, so we can have assessment/feedback  sheets ready for you tomorrow. This Master  Class Convention is open to the public and you do not have to be with a studio to attend. Open for students & teachers. Dancers may take one class or both classes. Single Master Class is $25, 2 master Classes is $35. Dance teachers only pay $20 per class with proof of teaching. COLLEGE STUDENTS ONLY PAY $15 WITH COLLEGE ID. You can take the master classes without being involved in the competition/review on June 26th.





INTERMEDIATE Students - ages 9 & up

 Contemporary Dance Class ages 9 to 18 w/Professional Dancer  Mr. Matthew Robinson 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
TEACHER FEEDBACK/ Assessments 3:30 to 4 p.m. Assessments




 ADVANCED Students -  ages 13 to 35
Check in Time 4:15 p.m. 
Adv. Contemporary Class Mr. Matthew Robinson 4:30  p.m. to 5:30  p.m. 
Contemporary FEEDBACK/Assessment 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. 
Adv. Jazz Class with Miss Shelby Kolar 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. 
Jazz Assessment 6:45  to 7:30  p.m. 


JUNE 26TH CONVENTION & COMPETITION SHOWCASE IS OPEN TO ALL STYLES (KIDS & ADULTS) - BALLET, JAZZ, HIP HOP, TAP, HEELS, CONTEMPORARY, MUSICAL THEATRE W/ OR WITHOUT VOICE, POINTE, BREAK DANCE, IRISH DANCE, BALLROOM & ANY OTHER CULTURAL DANCE STYLES.


DRESS CODE
Students should wear any colored leotard or tight tank with capri or full length  leggings . Bring Jazz shoes & ballet shoes. Hair should be back in a ponytail or bun. Students should bring water bottle and a healthy snack. There are snack shoppes located in the conference center, so you can also give your child money to buy a snack.

PERFORMANCE COMPONENT OF THE REVIEW IN WHICH DANCE TEAMS OR SOLO PERFORMERS WILL BE PERFORMING A ROUTINE WILL TAKE PLACE ON JUNE 26TH TUESDAY EVENING. MORE DETAILS TO COME ON THIS EVENT. FAMILY & FRIENDS WILL BE ALLOWED TO WATCH THIS PORTION OF THE REVIEW. THE PERFORMANCES WILL ALSO BE TAPED & DANCERS WILL RECEIVE A FLASH DRIVE OF THEIR PERFORMANCE. STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE SCORE SHEETS & THERE WILL BE CASH PRIZES, DANCE SCHOLARSHIPS  & TROPHIES FOR FIRST, SECOND & THIRD PLACES.
