*Children Auditions (Ages 6-14) Please prepare the following:*
*Auditionees will all be singing the same piece and all learning a dance at
auditions, Music will be sent to your email after signing up.
*Bring a headshot and resume
*Please bring a list of conflict dates you may have during the rehearsal
period.

*Adult Auditions (Ages 15 and up) Please prepare the following:*
*Please prepare 2 contrasting 32 bar cuts of a song in the style of the
show(DO NOT SING FROM THE SHOW), bring sheet music in the appropriate key
(accompanist will be provided).
*Bring a headshot and resume
*Please bring a list of conflict dates you may have during the rehearsal
period.

Medina County Show Biz does not pre-cast without prior announcement.

*Rehearsals:* Regular Rehearsals will start August 26th.
Rehearsals will be held based on actor availability. 4-5 days a week
expected. Sunday-Thursday 6-10. Children will be released by 9pm every
night excluding tech week.

Rehearsal Schedule will be sent out by July 20th.
No conflicts will be accepted for any performance dates or during tech week.
Medina County Show Biz does not offer union contracts or cast understudies
and all performers are volunteers.

*Show Information: *
Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart's classic musical based on
Charles Dickens' novel, *Oliver Twist*. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning
show is one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture
and is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and
audience members alike.

The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished
orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker.
Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty
thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured
for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow
takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister
Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening
Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.

*Oliver! *is a musical theatre masterpiece, perfectly showcasing the
talents of a large ensemble cast as they bring these classic characters and
score to life.

*Casting **Requirements*:
It is the director's goal to engage a large and diverse cast in this family
friendly classic. All races, creeds, gender identities, sexual
orientations, ages, and body types are encouraged to audition and will be
considered for all roles when casting.

*Oliver Twist*
A workhouse boy about 11 years of age.
Gender: Male
Age: 8 to 12

*Fagin*
A Wiley Trickster - runs training academy for young pickpockets.
Gender: Male
Age: 30 to 60

*The Artful Dodger*
Fagin's brightest pupil.
Gender: Male
Age: 15 to 22

*Bill Sikes*
A villain in his prime.
Gender: Male
Age: 25 to 40

*Nancy*
A graduate of Fagin's academy, and Bill's doxy.
Gender: Female
Age: 18 to 26

*Bet*
A young lass in Fagin's establishment - idolises Nancy.
Gender: Female
Age: 15 to 22

*Mr. Bumble*
A large and pompous Beadle of the workhouse.
Gender: Male
Age: 30 to 60

*Widow Corney*
A sharp-tongued, domineering widow - the Workhouse Mistress.
Gender: Female
Age: 40 to 55

*Mr. Brownlow*
An old gentleman of wealth and breeding.
Gender: Male
Age: 50 to 70

*Mr. Sowerberry*
The Undertaker
Gender: Male
Age: 40 to 60

*Mrs. Sowerberry*
Mr. Sowerberry's wife and his overseer.
