Small Print was a finalist for the Cleveland Indie Film Incubator Project.  

 
Synopsis:

Small Print is a dark comedy about a pretentious interracial millennial couple who stroke their own egos by adopting an African baby to gain respect and admiration from society only to have their dreams tarnished when the adoption agency delivers an unexpected surprise.

 
Character BIOS

[ROSE] [GENDER: FEMALE] [ETHNICITY: ASIA] [AGE: 10-13]

Excited to be celebrating her birthday with her friends and family.  Rose did not know she was adopted and loves her annoying little brother more than anything in the world.  Shock and tears ensue when she gets a very unexpected birthday surprise. *Crying on cue an added bonus*  (Needed one day of filming).

 
[ROSE’S BROTHER] [GENDER: MALE] [ETHNICITY: AFRICAN-AMERICAN] [AGE: 8-10] 

Loves his sister and parents and never cared that he was adopted.  Like all little brothers his greatest enjoyment is teasing his older sister.  It looks like he ends up getting the best gift of all on his sister’s birthday.  (Needed one day of filming).

 
[BABY] [GENDER: MALE OR FEMALE][ETHNICITY: ASIA] [AGE: NEWBORN]

The baby portrays a new born Asian female in a car seat.  There is one shot necessary with the baby and we can make sure it is done quickly at the parents’ convenience.

[SARA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [ETHNICITY: ASIA] [AGE: LATE 20’S]

Wants to keep up with the Kardashians as long as that is still cool.  She may seem put out that her husband can’t have children but truth be told she’s perfectly fine not having to be pregnant and ruining her perfect 10.  In all honesty, she is looking forward to adopting and all the attention that goes along with it.

This was shot in association with Rephase Films and was the Runner-Up best film in the 2017 Cleveland 48 Hour Film Competition.
