AUDITION FOR MERCURY THEATRE COMPANY'S NATIONAL AWARD WINNING JUNIOR COMPANY AND JOIN THE CAST OF MTC'S PRODUCTION OF DISNEY'S NEWSIES!

Mercury Theatre Company is currently seeking youth ages 11-18 to participate in their Junior Company for the upcoming season. Membership in the Junior Company is by invitation only. Audition timeslots and directions are listed below.

Membership in the MTC Junior Company includes the following:
- Up to 8 intensive training sessions with professional trainers, including music, acting, dance and tumbling.
- Participation as a cast member in MTC's full-scale production of Disney's Newsies (December 21-23 in South Euclid).
- Participation in the National Performing Arts Festival in Orlando (February 22-24, 2019 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL).
- Opportunity to compete as a solo and/or duo in the National Performing Arts Festival.

*NOTE: Company members will be responsible for travel costs associated with the trip as well as training fees. More information will be available at auditions. Fundraising opportunities will be available.

Auditions will take place on Friday, August 31, from 6:30-9PM and on Saturday, September 1, from 10AM-12:30PM. All participants are expected to audition. Individual auditions will be scheduled and each participant is expected to attend the dance call following his/her scheduled audition time. Dance auditions will take place at the following times for each date:
On Friday 8/31: 7:20PM and 8:40PM
On Saturday 9/1: 10:50AM and 12:10PM

LOCATION:

Mercury Theatre Company is located at Notre Dame College's Regina Hall. Auditions and rehearsals are expected to take place at this location. Address is as follows:
1857 South Green Road
South Euclid, OH 44121


WHAT TO PREPARE:

Please prepare a short contemporary musical theater piece that does not exceed 1-minute in length. A professional accompanist will be provided; please have your music in original key and in a 3-ring binder with pages copied back to back. A headshot and resume will be helpful. You will be asked to dance, so please bring comfortable shoes.


SCHEDULE:

Regular rehearsals will begin Saturday, September 15, 2018, and will take place each Saturday for at least 8 weeks. Additional rehearsals will be added in November as required. Each Saturday rehearsal will include up to 3 hours of intensive training and 3 hours of show rehearsal. Exact times are TBD and may vary week to week, but most Saturday rehearsals will begin at 10AM and run until 5PM.

Please bring your calendar to the auditions so you can note any conflicts at that time. Please note that all company members must be available from 5-10PM from December 16-20 for tech rehearsals.


PERFORMANCE DATES:

Dec. 21-23, 2018 (South Euclid)
Feb. 22-24, 2019 (Orlando)

CASTING:

Casting decisions will be announced by Sunday, September 9th, and company members are expected to accept their roles no later than the first rehearsal. All actors who are invited to the Junior Company are expected to perform in the South Euclid performance in December as well as the National Performing Arts Festival in February.
