“Everything in Moderation”

Synopsis:

Kristen begins a new job as a work-from-home online moderator while moving
in with her grandmother as a caretaker. The online moderation team shows us
the complexities of dealing with inappropriate online content. Kristen is
unsettled with her inability to help others, until she must decide if she
will go out of her way to help a young girl in a dangerous situation nearby.



Characters:

*Kristen: *late 20s, woman of color preferred. Kristen feels concerned for
a young girl who resembles her younger self, whose insecurities make her
vulnerable to an online predator.

*Grandma:* 65+ senior woman, woman of color preferred.



Project Details:

15-min short film, independent production, non-union. Production will occur
in Lakewood, Ohio from December 1-9. Auditions will occur online as
necessary; in-person callbacks will occur in Lakewood, November 19-23.
Compensation in the form of an honorarium, amount tbd.



Team:

Director & Producer Rick Schilling is an award-winning filmmaker and
educator (CSU ‘12, Harvard EdM ‘13) who also has experience managing a team
of online moderators. His short films have won the Cleveland International
FilmSlam award and the A&E Networks Television Pitch competition. (

is a published writer and designer (Yale ‘15, Harvard M.Arch ‘20).
