BROADVIEW HEIGHTS SPOTLIGHTS THEATER 
PRESENTS “MAN OF LA MANCHA”
 
The Broadview Heights Spotlights Theater’s production of the brutal, hilarious,and heartbreaking musical, Man of La Mancha, will run November 2through November 17, 2018.  Friday and Saturday performances are at7:30PM; a Sunday matinee on November 11 will begin at 3:00PM.  All showswill be at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building (Spotlights Theater),9543 Broadview Road, next to the Police Station. Tickets are $15 for adults and$14 for seniors and students. The musical is an adaptation of the 17th-centurynovel, Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes.  The original1965 Broadway production ran for 2,328 performances and won five Tony Awards,including Best Musical. Written by Dale Wasserman with music by Mitch Leigh andlyrics by Joe Darion, the show has been revived four times on Broadway,becoming one of the most enduring works of musical theatre.  Thecelebrated score includes “The Impossible Dream,” “I, Don Quixote,” “Dulcinea,”“I Really Like Him,” “Little Bird,” and “To Each His Dulcinea.”
 
Playing Cervantes (who also becomes Don Quixote) is Spotlights’ EducationDirector, Tim Anderson.  While waiting in prison for a hearingwith the Spanish Inquisition, Cervantes recruits his trusty side kick, SanchoPanza (Declan Newton) and the rest of his fellow prisoners to act outthe story of the "mad" knight Don Quixote.  The story portraysDon Quixote’s quest for his Dulcinea (Stephanie Malfara) and celebratesthe perseverance of a dying old man who refuses to give up his ideals or hispassion.  
 
Director Ryan Bergeron leads the ensemble cast of prisoners,who all play different roles in the story.  The exceptionally-talentedgroup of local actors includes Roxanna Bell, Adam Bowers, ArielBrinker, John Janoch, Shain Josef, BobNewton, Peggy Newton, James Newton, SarahPrice, Marco Quiroz, Eli Ravenson, EllieRitterbusch, Addie Wisniewski, and Natalie Zenczak. SharonJoyce will be the costume and properties designer and TimAnderson is the Technical Director. Tara Corkery and KeleighRae Bowling serve as producers.
