Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre announces auditions for GODSPELL (2012 Revised Version)

Located at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW Canton, Ohio 44702

SYNOPSIS: A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

Auditions will be held on Monday, December 10th and Tuesday, December 11th 

All auditioners are asked to prepare 32 bars of music in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided.

We also ask that you bring a current headshot and resume with you to auditions. 

Rehearsals will begin on December 17th and will generally take place Sun-Thurs.

Performances: March 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, and 23rd at 8pm and March 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th and 23rd at 2pm. 

CHARACTERS:

Jesus (Male, 16+, Tenor)

John the Baptist/Judas (Male, 16+, Baritone)

Ensemble (Any gender, 16+, SATB) - Followers of Jesus
