Western Reserve Academy is seeking a technical theater director who will assume the responsibilities for the technical operations of the Knight Fine Arts Center, including lighting, sound, and set construction. Start date: December 1, 2018.

The ideal candidate possesses MOST or ALL of the following qualifications:

  Experience with creative set construction

  Technical production and design experience

  Degree and/or certifications in related field

  Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  Capable of working well with a group and independently

  Flexible work hours, especially near production time

  Technology skills

  Ability to operate, program, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment for theatrical

and live entertainment

Duties & Responsibilities

  Design and build sets for three main-stage theater productions

  Work cooperatively with production directors

  Stage, lighting, and sound coordination for plays, musical, dance performances,

instrumental and choir concerts, and other main-stage productions throughout the

school year

  Sound equipment management for the Knight Fine Arts Center and the Chapel

  Ability to operate and maintain equipment for theatrical and live entertainment

  Teach one section of Stagecraft
