WE ARE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FOR FEMALE ACTORS

KSU Trumbull Theatre will be holding auditions for "Mr. Burns...A Post
Electric Play" on January 8 & 9 from 6-8pm.

DATES: Rehearsals will begin around January 14th, with the show going up
March 15th-24th.

ROLES: 3m 5f, with additional flexible.

ACTING: Come prepared to tell a short (3-4 minute) entertaining story
(fictional or factual) and to read from the script. We are looking for
people who could hold their own in a largely oral culture.

SINGING: Bring 16 measures of a prepared song. Please bring sheet music as
an accompanist will be provided. Auditionees should be able to match pitch
and rhythm and will be given a sample to demonstrate. Songs can be of any
genre and should show vocal strength in the lower registers.

Auditions are open to the public. Please call 330-675-8887 or email
trumbullboxoffice at kent.edu for more information.

THE SHOW: Anne Washburn’s imaginative dark comedy propels us forward nearly
a century, following a new civilization stumbling into its future.

After the collapse of civilization, a group of survivors share a campfire
and begin to piece together the plot of "The Simpsons" episode "Cape Feare"
entirely from memory. 7 years later, this and other snippets of pop culture
(sitcom plots, commercials, jingles, and pop songs) have become the live
entertainment of a post apocalyptic society, sincerely trying to hold onto
its past. 75 years later, these are the myths and legends from which new
forms of performance are created.

A paean to live theater, and the resilience of Bart Simpson through the
ages, Mr. Burns is an animated exploration of how the pop culture of one
era might evolve into the mythology of another.
