QuTheatre, Akron's pre-professional performance ensemble dedicated to
LGBTQ+ youth and young adults is seeking a few passionate actors to join
the QuTheatre ensemble for their first fully staged theatre production!

These are STIPEND positions! Details of stipend amounts will be shared at
the audition.

The all-original, company-devised project deals with the failure of
anti-bullying campaigns and asks the powerful question: "How do we REALLY
create a culture of kindness?"

WHO WE'RE SEEKING
LGBTQ+ Youth and young adults from diverse racial and socioeconomic
backgrounds who feel passionate about the arts as a vehicle for community
storytelling and expression. Allies are welcome to attend, but due to the
nature of the subject matter and mission of the project, priority in
casting will be given to LGBTQ+ youth.

Rehearsals begin in late May, Performances will be held in July, with a
possible local tour in fall of 2019. There will also be several meetings
and workshops held in the spring prior to beginning formal rehearsal.

The audition process will end at 5pm.

TO PREPARE:

Auditioners should prepare at least 2 of the following:

- An original (self-written) monologue or poem of any style (memorized).
- A short original song (self written, approx. 32 bars) of a favorite song
a capella,.
- A self-created movement/dance combination to recorded music (of any kind)
no longer than a minute in length (av provided, please bring audio on a
mobile device such as a phone or ipad).

NOTES
Resume/Headshots are welcome but not necessary.
Please come dressed for movement.
Be prepared to BEGIN the audition on time.
Parents are welcome to attend.

Auditioners may be asked to 'cold read' from a text we provide, and will
engage in some physical acting exercises. Actors of all body types and
physical abilities are welcome.
