Musical Theatre Vocal Audition Masterclass
Instructor: Helen Todd, soprano

In this masterclass, students will learn how to choose music appropriate for specific auditions, will gain insight on how to select a memorable 16 and 32 bar cut, will receive professional feedback on offerings, as well as headshots, resumes, and audition books. Artists will build and refine the techniques necessary to craft authentic characters and deliver honest storytelling through song.

We Tell the Story
Playwriting Masterclass

Instructor: Lisa Langford, Actor, Arts Educator, Playwright, Cleveland Public Theatre's 2018/2019 Nord Family Foundation Playwright Fellow
Lisa's play, RASTMUS AND HATTIE, was selected alongside 5 new plays to be read at NNPN's 17th annual National Showcase of New Plays this December in Sacramento, California this year.

In this masterclass, students will flesh out their project ideas, writing and engaging in activities during which they'll explore basic play structure, strategies useful in creating impactful dialogue, and techniques helpful in creating authentic characters.

Shape Up Your Solo Show
Playwriting Masterclass
Instructor: Nina Domingue, Actor, Arts Educator, Playwright
Nina most recently remounted her solo show Ya Mama!  at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and a performed a run of the show at Cleveland Public Theatre in the fall of 2018.

In this solo show masterclass, students will explore different solo show styles, processes, and workshop vocal choice, movement and gesture as a means of creating character portraits. Students will learn the skills needed to strengthen the trajectory of development, solidify objectives and intentions, and clarify transitions between scenes and characters. This session is geared towards writers who have already started creating a piece. Playwrights should have one monologue/scene created, preferably more.

All classes take place at the CPH rehearsal halls and classrooms located in downtown Cleveland. The courses span ages three through adult and provide all levels theatre training. No prior experience is necessary.
