“THE VELVETEEN RABBIT”
A CLASSIC CHILDREN’S STORY
MAY 4-12, 2019

 
As part of its TYA Series (Theater for Young Audiences) the Broadview HeightsSpotlights community theater will be presenting “The Velveteen Rabbit” onSaturdays and Sundays, May 4-12, 2019. Saturday shows are at 2PM and 6PM;Sunday shows are at 2PM. All seats are $10 and reservations are availableonline at www.broadview-heights-spotlights.org  Walk-ins are welcomeif seating is available. 
 
The show is sponsored by Primrose School of Broadview Heights, offering carefor infants through pre-K as well as before & after school and summer camp.
 
All shows will be held at the Broadview Heights Spotlights Theater on theBroadview Center Campus, 9543 Broadview Road (next to the Police Department).Children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed friend for "showand tell" and to snuggle with during the show.
 
This enchanting version of the classic children’s story will touch yourheart. Unbeknownst to Andrew’s nursemaid, there is a life to theplaythings on the floor and in the toy cabinet when the lights go out in thenursery Timothy Lion, Train Engine, Skin Horse, Model Boat and Velveteen Rabbitall spring to life.  Actors represent the ’spirit’ of each toy-chattering,bickering and sharing their feelings in hilarious and touchinginteractions.  With narration by the tender and grandfatherly Skin HorseSpirit, you’ll laugh and cry along with the characters as they endure thetrials and tribulations of their unique experiences-especially the RabbitSpirit, who learns about love when she gains the affection of the youngboy. 
 
The show is directed by Brenton Cochran, and co-produced by Diane Frendak andSarah Price. The cast includes Chris Bizub, Clorise Busch, Nick DeAngelis,Alexandria Frendak, John Janoch, Kayleigh Joyce, Hannah Leffler, Spencer Mills,Bella Mortensen, Lisa Mortensen, Kennedy Naypauer, Annette Phelps, MaddieSpears, Alexis Zelinksy, and Rachel Zelinksy.
 
The show is adapted by Anita Larson and produced by special arrangement withPioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood CO.
