Event is FREE for everyone to attend but please consider to spend some $ to
patronize the restaurant, that would be great. And please make sure to pay
for your meals prior leaving the establishment. There will be no May
meetings.

 

Cleveland IndieClub is a monthly get together for local filmmakers and
enthusiasts, free to attend, free to mingle and network, this is the oldest
film group held since 2003. We will start having guest speakers to attend
our meetings and give us insights. 

 

Guest speaker: Richard A. Fike Sr. on actions and stunts in movies.

Richard Fike is a Cleveland based Stunt Coordinator, Stuntman and Licensed
Explosives expert who has been involved with the film industry for over 25
years. He is Director of Stunt Predators USA & SFX located here in NE Ohio,
and conducts training sessions to over 40 professional stuntmen and women on
a monthly basis. His first taste of writing and directing action began when
he choreographed the action for the 1986-87 Cleveland Browns Fantasy Video,
Masters of the Gridiron. Since then he has appeared in over 80 feature
films, including Marvel's Avengers, Captain American - Winter Soldier, Draft
Day and many more.

 

When not on set, Richard can be found teaching martial arts to his students
at his dojo in Madison, or providing Close Quarter Combative's training,
advice, and assistance to "At Risk" individuals and organizations across the
U.S. He is a retired U.S. Army Officer with over 26 years of service within
the Special Operations community where his real world experiences have
assisted him in keeping the "action" on set authentic. His priority on set
has and will always be SAFETY first. He holds both state and federal
licenses in explosives and pyrotechnics, and is a certified weapons armorer.

 

Richard has also taught and supported film education programs at Cuyahoga
Community College, Cleveland State University, and Kent State University.

For those showing your short films or trailer/teaser: Remember to bring
either a laptop with hdmi out, playable DVD or Bluray or a FAT32 usb drive -
if using USB Drive make sure the file is an Apple encoded mp4 max 1080 (not
high bitrate). NOTE: 720 seems to work better. Bluray seems to be the
safest.

 

Showing locally made short films, teaser trailer, music video, etc.
Filmmaker must be present. And only 1 film per each film per filmmaking
unless it was okayed by the admin
