East Cleveland Theater is hosting auditions for “The Old Setter”, written
by John Henry Redwood.



*Director: Coralyce Carten*



*Synopsis:*

“The Old Settler” revolves around Elizabeth, an older woman, who finds both
excitement and trouble when her younger sister and an unrelated young man
move in.  The play takes place in the 1940s.



*Available Roles:*

(Ages listed are somewhat flexible.)



*Elizabeth Borny**: *Black woman, 50s

>From North Carolina, Elizabeth lives in Harlem.  She has established a
comfortable life on her own but has never forgot where she came from.  She
is a wise, strong women.



*Quilly McGrath**: *Black woman, 50s

>From North Carolina, Quilly is Elizabeth’s younger sister.  Although
outgoing, she wears her feelings on her sleeve, and is painfully afraid to
be alone.



*Husband Witherspoon**: *Black man, 20s or 30s

>From South Carolina, Husband is in NYC to retrieve his girlfriend and take
her back home.  He is relatively naïve about life.



*Audition Dates:*

*Auditions are by appointment only.*

Sunday, July 07, from 1 to 3pm.

Monday, July 08, from 6 to 8pm.

Tuesday, July 09, from 6 to 8pm.

Only those roles listed are available.  Auditioners should be prepared to

*Show Dates:*

Shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 9 shows total

Opening: Friday, September 13, 2019

Closing: Sunday, September 29, 2019

Friday and Saturday shows start at 8pm

Sunday shows start at 3pm



*Rehearsals:*

Rehearsals will begin the week of August 11, 2019. Exact dates have not
been determined. We typically have rehearsals Sundays thru Thursdays (5
days / week), but again that is not yet set in stone. If you are concerned
about dates and timeframes, please contact us and tell us your limitations.



East Cleveland Theater is a community theater celebrating its 50th Season.  Our
actors, like most of our personnel, are unpaid volunteers.  We hope you
