Mercury Theatre Company celebrates the world’s greatest filmmaker in this new musical biopic

Opening July 7

Direct from Broadway, and with special permission from composer and book writer Christopher Curtis, Chaplin opens at Mercury Theatre Company July 7, 2019. From the slums of London to the heights of Hollywood, Chaplin is based on the real-life story of Charlie Chaplin, the iconic film actor, writer, producer and director. Dramatizing the making of Chaplin’s legendary films, including The Kid, The Circus, Modern Times and The Great Dictator, Chaplin tells the touching story of the man who makes the world laugh as his legendary screen persona, the Tramp, but struggles to find his own real-life happiness.

Under the direction of Pierre-Jacques Brault, and featuring a cast of 20, led by Brian Marshall and Jennifer Myor, Chaplin is the showbiz musical about the silent film legend the world couldn’t stop talking about. Marshall, previously seen this summer as Harry Bright in Mamma Mia! has had a long history playing The Little Tramp in shows throughout his 20 year career as an actor. Jennifer Myor, seen on The Mercury stage for over 11 years, is a frequent vocalist on Celebrity Cruise Lines. Chaplin marks their 50th production together onstage.


Chaplin runs from July 7 through June 21, 2019 at Notre Dame College, 1857 South Green Road, South Euclid, OH 44121.
