CLEVELAND CINEMAS ROCK DOC SERIES
Special Screenings of Rockin’ Films at Capitol Theatre and Cedar Lee Theatre

(Cleveland, OH) – Cleveland Cinemas will be hosting screenings of highly anticipated concert films and rock documentaries. The series kicks off on July 11th with a screening of recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Cure’s film ANNIVERSARY 1978-2018 LIVE IN HYDE PARK and is presented in partnership with and the Grog Shop (2785 Euclid Heights Blvd., Cleveland Hts.).

THE CURE – ANNIVERSARY 1978 – 2018 LIVE IN HYDE PARK
Thursday, July 11th at 7:00 PM

The Cure, acknowledged as one of the world’s greatest live bands, take the stage on a perfect July evening in London’s Hyde Park 2018 to deliver a set of songs celebrating four decades of music making.

The ensuing film ANNIVERSARY 1978 – 2018, directed by long-time collaborator Tim Pope, captures them in glorious 4K. The 5.1 audio mix by Robert Smith and Paul Corkett complements and completes this fabulously immersive cinematic experience.


BETWEEN ME AND MY MIND

comes to movie theaters nationwide for a special one-night-only screening. A few minutes into this intimate look at the creative process of founding Phish guitarist and vocalist Trey Anastasio, it is clear that he is exploding with his unique brand of songwriting and creativity.

STOP MAKING SENSE – 35th Anniversary

On Thursday, August 1, join Dead Heads in your neighborhood -and around the world -when Trafalgar Releasing and Rhino Entertainment celebrate the 9th Annual GRATEFUL DEAD MEET-UP AT THE MOVIES. This can't-miss event -the first to go global -features the previously unreleased complete June 17, 1991 concert from Giants Stadium. Widely considered one of the greatest shows of the band's final decade of performing, 6/17/91 also sounds unlike any Dead show you've ever heard as it was one of only two recorded on 48-track. Mixed by Jeffrey Norman in glorious surround sound with video from the multi-camera live edit, this will be the first time the Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick line-up has ever appeared on the big screen.

ELECTRIC CHURCH presents the legendary guitarist in full flight at the 1970 Atlanta Pop Festival before the largest US audience of his career. This critically acclaimed film combines color, 16mm multi-camera footage of Hendrix’s unforgettable July 4, 1970 concert in its original performance sequence together with a new documentary that traces his journey to the festival amidst the dark shadow of civil rights unrest, the relenting toll of the Vietnam War and a burgeoning festival culture that drew together young people across the country who were inspired by the Woodstock festival.


DECONSTRUCTING THE BEATLES: ABBEY ROAD SIDE 2

Beatleologist Scott Freiman has created one of his most in-depth “deconstructions” and takes the audience on a journey track-by-track explaining the inspiration for the songs and their evolution in the studio.

The Holy Trinity of Rock returns to the big screen on Wednesday, August 21, when the first "Annual Exercise in Fan Indulgence" Cinema Strangiato brings Rush fans together in movie theatres worldwide. Featuring R40+, this global fan event will give audiences a special look into some of the best performances from R40 LIVE, including songs such as "Closer to the Heart", "Subdivisions", "Tom Sawyer" and more, as well as unreleased backstage moments and candid footage left on the cutting room floor.
