A bit about each of the plays.
The Life of Trees (directed by Adam Leventhal)
Seven-year-old Maddy cares deeply about "Bertha", the ancient Chinese cork
tree in a local park. And her love for Bertha inspires a family
reconciliation.
Recess (directed by Adam Leventhal)
Two children enact on the playground how they imagine life would be like as
adults. But perhaps they are merely practicing for the future, and they are
destined to spend their lives together.
Lovesick (directed by Tim Peebles)
At the Institute, some time in the not too distant future, Tom and Marybeth
find that love among coworkers does not always work out.
New Friends (directed by Mike Podgor)
A young lady meets some new friends.
You Haven't Changed a Bit (directed by Greg Lavelle)
Lottie has never been to a high school reunion; Len has been to them all.
Their 70th is a first for them both.
Death of a Snowman (directed by Michael Attali)
A snowman and a little girl discuss the afterlife in this existential
Yuletide comedy.
An Ace in the Hole (directed by Greg Lavelle)
Based on actual events, An Ace in the Hole is the story of a dad, son and
grandfather sneaking onto a closed golf course on New Years' Day. Dad finds
a new perspective when he meets a mysterious old lady with a fantastic tale
to tell.
The Prodigal Cow (directed by Adam Leventhal)
A familiar tale, told from a slightly more bovine perspective.
Super Interview (directed by Lisa Carter)
Mr. Melvin interviews Mrs. Smith for an important position in his company,
but it seems that Smith's super qualifications might not be enough to win
the job.
A Box of Ashes (directed by Adam Leventhal)
A man and a woman seek the help of a psychic to discover the reason a spirit
seems to be present in the woman's house and, in the process, discover a
surprising revelation.
Eddie and Edna (directed by Greg Lavelle)
Sometimes it becomes a struggle to sort out the real from the imagined.
Sometimes, even those closest cannot help.
The Secret Life of Phones (directed by Lisa Carter)
Two cellphones talk to one another. They have a secret love affair going on,
but it's coming to an end because the one phone is about to be replaced by
an upgrade. This is a commentary about how people would rather spend time on
their phones than with each other.
