The Jungle Book


Theatre returns to Peninsula with performances of The Jungle Book in The Spicy Lamb Farm Barn this August.
 
From 1953 to 1974, the Olde Player’s Barn on SR 303 brought theatre to life in Peninsula. Last year, Wandering Aesthetics brought theatre back to the village with a youth performance of A Play Within a Play on a Midsummer’s Day. This year, The Jungle Book is coming to life inside of The Spicy Lamb Farm’s Player’s Barn. 

Based on Rudyard Kipling’s book of the same name and devised by an extraordinary group of young performers, The Jungle Book takes a look at a number of issues facing modern-day students, from bullying to self expression. Following the story of Mowgli, the man-cub, the audience is transported from a school playground to the untamed jungle where the likes of Baloo, Bagheera, Akeela and Shere Khan, help teach Mowgli the “rules of the jungle”.
