MAMA'S OVEN: Takes place in1956 after the Korean War. Men are returning
home, some much different than when they left. It is a time when Doo wop
singers serenaded the neighborhoods under the street lights and Jim Crow
was ever present, blatant and threatening. Mama's Oven focuses on the
damaging results of war, intricate personal relationships, tragedy, danger,
and finally resolve, as four doo wop singers and the people who love them
look forward to the singers appearance at the Apollo Theater in NYC, while
struggling to steer them away from the things that dim the lights on
dreams of 'colored boy's.

Experience the reading of this unique story as writer, Gail Young (Ife),
takes the audience into the soul of. 'Mama's Oven,' a play that
crystallizes loss and gain while folding back to reveal the passions of the
human spirit.
