*Cleveland Dance Fest 2019 Master Classes for Youth Dancers*

We have some intriguing artists teaching as a part of this year’s festival
on *Saturday November 9th* that will spark creativity through new methods
of dance training.

Summer Logan, Director of Bone & Fiddle Dance Collective will be presenting
fast paced contemporary dance technique that focuses on quick direction
changes, weight shifting, and performance qualities with the philosophy
that the body is dancing at all times. Dancers will also have the
opportunity to learn repertoire from the company’s 2018/2019 performance
season. Hana Newfeld & Chloe Napoletano of Columbus, Ohio will introduce
tools for creating a trusting and respectful space for idea sharing,
experimentation, and dance making. They will share with students methods of
dance making that they use in their own collaborative choreographic
process. Grace
Nicklos of The Movement Project presents a Ballet class that will emphasize
clarity of the body in space, articulation of joints, and advanced rhythm
structures. Students will work from an anatomical approach to movement,
using bone rhythms and kinetic chains of the body to further develop the
deepening of ballet technique. Musicality and complex timing will challenge
the body's ability to adapt and maintain spontaneous alignment. Wrapping up
the afternoon will be Beth Logan, Director of Wild She Dances based out of
Brooklyn NY.  Logan will take students through the structures used to
create "shaking morning." We will begin with kinetic-chain practices with
influences from yoga and the use of breath. Following this warm-up, we will
dive into the technique and athleticism that is vital to Wild She Dances.
The class will culminate into a structured improvisation that uses breath,
weight, and abandon to bring dancers into a completely vulnerable place of
movement.

We are offering a master class package rate that each dancer can take all 4
