PRODUCTION DATES:
March 6th-15th (Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2pm)

Regular Rehearsals will start January 4th. Rehearsals will be held based on actor availability. 4-5 days a week expected. Sunday-Thursday 6:30-9:30

PREPARATION
Please prepare 2 contrasting songs (32 bars) in the style of the show.
Bring sheet music in the appropriate key (accompanist will be provided).
Bring a headshot and resume if you have them.
Please bring a list of conflict dates you may have during the rehearsal period. No conflicts will be accepted for any performance dates or during tech week.
Medina does not offer union contracts or cast understudies and all performers are volunteers.

Show Information:
This riotous comedy follows Mole, Rat, Badger, and the impulsive Mr. Toad, whose insatiable need for speed lands him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of sinister Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape leading to a series of misadventures and a heroic battle to recapture Toad Hall. Full of humor, wit, a gorgeous, soaring score, and heartwarming lessons of friendship, THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS is the perfect fit for family audiences everywhere.
THIS IS THE ALL AGES OHIO PREMIERE. 
 
 Casting Requirements-Looking for a cast of 30, This show will have an Multi-Generational Cast. Looking for between 8-12 children and 20 teens and adults.
Portia- A young otter pup always getting herself into trouble.

Voice Part: Mezzo Soprano
Mole- A curious mole new to the neighborhood looking for friendship and adventure.
Gender: Male

Voice Part:Tenor 
Rat- A Rat very much stuck in his ways and against change, however a true friend at heart and always kind to those he cares about.
Gender: Male

Voice Part: Baritone 
Ms. Otter- Portia’s Mother, always chasing her daughter and trying to keep her safe.
Gender: Female 
Age: 30-60 
Voice Part: Mezzo Alto 
Toad- A Bold Self Centered Toad, Always interested in the next big thing, his flippant attitude gets him into trouble. Deep down has a heart of gold.

Voice Part: High Tenor 
Chief Weasel- A sneaky weasel trying to take over toad hall, the main antagonist of the story.

Mr. Badger- A wise leader, caring friend, and overall wonderful animal. Leads the friends on a quest to restore order in the neighborhood.

Horse- The Carriage Driver, Must Tap Dance, fun feature solo for a strong dancer and vocalist.

Lesser Weasel- Chiefs sidekick and punching bag, great comedic timing is a must.

Sheryl Stoat- Chiefs sidekick, much smarter than all the other weasels. Great dancer is a must!

The Galloers Daughter- A sneaky washer woman who helps toad escape from prison, has a big duet in act 2 with toad.

The Barge Woman- A Loud and Annoying Barge Woman who Toad tries to scam out of food and shelter but is to smart for him.

The Judge-An Unfair Judge who will do anything to put Toad in Jail.
Gender:Male
Age: 30-60
Voice Part: Baritone
Ensemble (Bank Animals, Field Mice, Weasels, Humans)
All Ensemble members will have many featured moments in the show,
All Genders, Body Types, and Ethnicities will be considered for all parts. Most Characters will play multiple parts.
