[NEohioPAL] 2-hr Improvers' Jitterbug class with Valerie Salstrom of Get Hep Swing - Saturday, Feb. 1st in North Olmsted

Do you have some experience with Jitterbug or partnered dance and want to increase your swing dance skills and build your toolbox of Jitterbug dance moves? Are you hoping to be able to join the next set of progressive classes in Intermediate Jitterbug? Would you like to shake the dust off of ALL of your fundamental Jitterbug moves in just a few hours? Do you learn partnered dance moves VERY quickly and want to learn the Jitterbug?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, please join us on Saturday, February 1st from 12-2 at Arlene Cassara Dance & Theater for a faced-paced afternoon of rapid-fire learning. We will cover ALL of the concepts and moves that you need to know to be considered an intermediate Jitterbug dancer. You MUST know the basic triple step footwork pattern and be familiar with at least some of the moves and concepts listed below to feel successful and not overwhelmed during this workshop. We progress through the class content quickly and will teach to the class description regardless of who attends. We are not expecting each student to achieve fluency during class time, we trust that you will do that during your own practice time. We would love to have you join us this Saturday. Get ready to expand your Jitterbug repertoire and skills!

Class content -

Footwork patterns - triple step, single step.

Positions - Open, closed, one-hand, cross-hand.

Moves - Connected and free spin tuck turns from all positions, left and right side passes and underarms for Leads and Follows, Follow goes/Lead goes, belt loop, shoulder slide.

Technique - General rules for connection and how each different position and move has different connection points and ways of connecting, transitions from one connection type to another, how to develop better balance, how to become a better spinner/spinnee, how to create flow in your movements.

You do not need a partner to take this class as we will rotate partners. Instructors will dance with students.

Attire is comfy and casual. Please wear flat shoes with a clean sole that allow you to pivot and turn easily.

Arlene Cassara Dance & Theater is located at 24325 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. This venue meets all ADA standards, has ample parking, a lightly sloped entry from the parking lot to the venue, wide doorways, dance floor on the main level, ample seating, ADA approved bathrooms, a changing area, and is a well ventilated, heated, and cooled dance space.
