Would you and your life partner love to be able to confidently dance together?  Want to impress your new sweetie with some suave dance moves?  Does someone you love really want you to learn how to dance?  Is a mother & son dance in your future?  Father & daughter dance coming up on the calendar?  Are you able to find someone willing to spend 2 hours with you on a Saturday afternoon? 

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, this fun and low-stress swing dance workshop is for you.  

We would be thrilled to have you and your dance partner join us on Saturday, February 15th from 12-2 at the Arlene Cassara Dance Studio at 24325 Lorain Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 

Let's get you started learning the easiest form of partnered dancing - Jitterbug! Jitterbug is also known as East Coast Swing or just Swing. By the end of this two-hour workshop, you can expect to know the two basic footwork patterns and how to lead and follow a fun mix of spins and turns in open and closed positions. We will dance to a variety of music including big band swing, early rock & roll, jump blues, and R&B.  The soundtrack for the day will be love-themed, with a few tongue-in-cheek tunes thrown in the mix for good measure and a good laugh.    

We will not rotate partners in this workshop but the instructor may occasionally dance with the attendees to demonstrate a move or concept.

Recommended attire is usually comfy and casual but since this is a Valentine-themed event feel free to dress up if that is what makes you happy.  Please wear flat shoes with a clean sole that allow you to pivot and turn easily.

Arlene Cassara Dance & Theater is located at 24325 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.  This venue meets all ADA standards, has ample parking, a lightly sloped entry from the parking lot to the venue, wide doorways, dance floor on the main level, ample seating, ADA approved bathrooms, a changing area, and is a well ventilated, heated, and cooled dance space.
