*“ … (Sandra) Emerick is an exceptionally gifted performer with incredible
vocal strength, range and tone. Her duets with the silver-throated and
affable (Michael) Snider . . . . are show-stoppers. And she absolutely
soars during the passionate “You Learn to Live Without” and “Always
Starting Over,” which closes the show.”
*Bob Ableman, the *Cleveland Jewish News*

* “**She (Emerick) is supported well by Braelin Andrzejewski as her witty
pal Kate, Delaney Hagy as Kate's lover Anne, and Michael Knobloch as the
blossoming gay man Lucas.”* Christine Howey, *Scene Magazine*

* “Friedman has been producing top quality theater for years at this venue
on the campus of Lakeland College, utilizing the talents of top designers
and fine area actors as well as students.”* Christine
Howey, *Scene Magazine*

*“The cast is universally strong. Sandra Emerick …. displays a powerful
singing voice, does a nice job of singing meanings and creates a real
person.” *Roy Berko, www.royberko.info

*The Production: *

This is the ninth collaboration between the dynamic lighting and set
designer Trad A Burns and director Martin Friedman following the deeply
satisfying and critically praised productions of “Sweeney Todd”, “Next to
Normal”, “Violet”, “Light in the Piazza”, “Anyone Can Whistle”, "Bridges of
Madison County", “Into the Woods” and “Death of a Salesman”.

The play, by the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning team of composer Tom
Kitt and lyricist Brian Yorkey, explores the life of Elizabeth, a newly
divorced woman who returns to New York City to start over. As she connects
with old, and new friends, she discovers that they have quite different
opinions on what directions she should take and how to redefine herself.
Elizabeth has to decide if she will seek out new adventures or build her
professional career in the city. The musical plays out not only her
possibilities but encourages the audience to as the same questions.
