Join Cleveland Dance Project for a hip hop master class with Carlin Michael
Dixon, fresh off a Royal Caribbean Cruise Dancer Contract! Class will be
held on Sunday 2/16 from 1-2:30pm at Creative Movement Center in Broadview
Heights.
Ages 16+ only.

*At the late age of 19, Carlin Michael, a Cleveland Native, took his first
professional dance class ever in ballet. He received an internship in art
administration and dance for Clevelands’ Ballet In the City for their Guys
Dance Too Program and was able to meet and dance on the same stage as
American Ballet Theater Principal Dancers Carlos Lopez and Misty Copeland.
Led by his faith, Carlin Michael received the opportunity to choreograph
and be in a music video for one of his favorite Christian artist “Gungor”.
He then began teaching hip hop and training at Above The Barre Dance
Company in Berea, OH where teachers there took him in as family. This
opportunity led him to perform for the company as a lead dancer/performer
in a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” as the role of “Arabian”
for two dance seasons. With hard work and faith, Carlin Michael was able to
perform at Cedar Point in the shows, “SideShow: A Carnival of Magic” and
the show “Luminosity: Ignite the Night” as a dancer and aerialist. He also
began dancing and emceeing for an entertainment company “Rock The House
Inc.” where he is now a headlining entertainer. Carlin Michael has taught
for various competitive dance companies throughout NorthEast Ohio. In just
his first year of teaching competitive dance, his choreography won his
student and own little brother Ohio Dance Masters, “Junior Mr. Dance of
Ohio” and eventually has become a Dance Industry Award nominee
choreographer. After much training, teaching for various dance studios and
directing artistic events for religious, non-profit, and community based
organizations, Carlin went on to receive his first professional contract
for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. There he performed in their most intense
and athletic aqua show “The Fine Line” and theater show “Big Daddy Hideaway
Heist” where he was Dance Captain for both shows! Within just five years
Carlin Michael has accomplished heights others may take ten or more years
to accomplish. As he continues his training and career, Carlin hopes to
continue reaching his dreams with the same formula that has gotten him to
where he is now…hard work and faith, and through that inspiring others to
do the same. *
