Audition appointments are currently
being scheduled for the 2020 summer season

at Rabbit Run Theater!

The productions for the summer are Kiss Me Kate, Baskerville, A Sherlock
Holmes Mystery, Titanic, The Musical and Always . . . Patsy Cline as well as
the Young Adult Production, Disney's Newsies, the Musical.

 

Kiss Me Kate   (musical)

Leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham,
battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.
With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, Kiss
Me Kate combines the humor and brilliancy of Cole Porter and William
Shakespeare. 

 

Roles available: Multiple roles available, male and female, ages 15 and up

 

Production dates:  May 29, 30, 31, June 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13

Baskerville, a Sherlock Holmes Mystery  (comedy/mystery)

Get your deerstalker cap on - the play's afoot!  From the award-winning
mastermind of mayhem, Ken Ludwig (

comes a fast-paced comedy about everyone's favorite detective solving his
most notorious case.  Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must crack the mystery
of The Hound of the Baskervilles before a family curse dooms its newest
heir.

 

Roles available:  Five roles available for men and women ages 18 and up.

 

Production dates:  June 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, July 1, 2, 3

Director:  Ann Hedger

 

Auditions:  Sun., Mar. 15, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

No monologue need be prepared as actors will read cold from the script.
Actors auditioning are encouraged to be familiar with the story and/or
script.

 

Disney's Newsies, the Musical  Young Adult Production

Newsies follows the tale of charismatic newsboy Jack Kelly as he and his
fellow newsies rally to clash with New York City's titans of publishing to
fight for their rights.  Set at the turn-of-the century and inspired by a
true story, Newsies, the Musical, is packed with dance numbers and a
family-friendly message.

 

Roles available:  Multiple roles are available, male and female, ages 12 to
21.

 

Production dates:  July 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 (matinee & evening)

Choreographer:  Hannah Green Hrutkay

Titanic, The Musical

Titanic, The Musical, is an account of the first and last days of this ship
of dreams.  With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and story and book by
Peter Stone, Titanic, The Musical, is told through some of the real life
characters involved in the tragedy.

 

Roles available:  Multiple roles available, male and female, ages 15 and up.

 

Production dates:  July 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, Aug. 1, 2, 6, 7, 8

Director:  Paige Heidrich

Musical Director:  James Slike
Choreographer:  Hannah Green Hrutkay

 

Auditions:  Fri., Mar. 27, 6 to 9 p.m. and Sat., Mar. 28, 6 to 9 p.m.

 

Always . . . Patsy Cline  (play with music)

Always . . . Patsy Cline was originally created and directed by Ted
Swindley.  This play with music is a tribute to this legendary country
singer and is based on the true story of Patsy's friendship with a fan from
Houston.  The show features many of Patsy's greatest hits including Crazy, I
Fall to Pieces and Sweet Dreams among others.

 

Roles available:  Two roles are available for females, ages 25 and up

 

Production dates:  Aug. 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, 
                              Sept. 3, 4, 5 

Director:  Brint Learned

Musical Director:  Jonathan Gordon

 

Auditions:  Fri., Mar. 27, 6 to 9 p.m. and Sat., Mar. 28, 6 to 9 p.m.

 

Additional Information
Actors auditioning for a musical (including Always . . . Patsy Cline) should
prepare to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style song from memory.  Please
bring sheet music for the accompanist in a binder. No pre-recorded
accompaniment or CD tracks. No monologue need be prepared as actors will
read sides from the script. Actors should dress business casual (jeans are
acceptable, no sweatpants).

 

All auditions are at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, 49 Park St.,
Madison, OH.  Auditions are by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment
