Stage Door Studios is proud to announce our first of this summer's two-week
vocal intensive series, Jason Robert Brown's "Songs for a New World."
Directed by Debra Cardy and Heather Curtis, participants will receive
individual and group instruction that focuses on vocal technique, stylistic
interpretation, and characterization. The two-week workshop will culminate
in two full performances of selections from "Songs for a New World."
Registration is open to all participants ages 16 and up.

Rehearsals will be Monday-Friday from 6:30-9:30 p.m., June 15-26.
Performances are Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 28 at
2:30 p.m. Cost for participants is $150, and includes digital copies of
sheet music and libretto; access to rehearsal and performance tracks; 30
hours of instruction, including 2 individual coaching sessions; T-shirt;
and 2 tickets redeemable for either performance.

Auditions will be done via video submission. To register, send an email to
heather at stagedoorstudios.org. You will then receive a Dropbox link with
suggested audition selections – 2 for females, and 2 for males. You may use
these tracks to record your video audition, or submit a song of your
choice. You only need to submit one song, though you may submit up to two
separate selections. Song selections from outside the show should be in the
style of the show, and exceed no more than 1 minute 30 seconds.

Once you have recorded your audition video, upload the file to YouTube (we
suggest making it unlisted), and email the link to
heather at stagedoorstudios.org by no later than 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5.

Final casting decisions will be made by Friday, May 8. All participants
will be assigned at least one solo number, as well as group numbers.
Registration fee is due by Friday, May 15.

Please email heather at stagedoorstudios.org with any questions.
