Logistics


   - There will be 3 rehearsals and 1 on-book reading, all conducted via
   Zoom.
   - This is an unpaid position, but a great chance to be a part of a new
   play!
   - Reply with a cover email and headshot/resume to the director at
   leavinghomePL at gmail.com. Please include your availability for February
   10-24.

Synopsis for Leaving Home

Jane & John have a child. They pay little attention to him or each other.
One day their child goes missing & they don’t notice -- not right away. Not
for a while. Two detectives take up the missing case. Jane & John are left
to contemplate their role as parents (absent parents) & begin to lose trust
in each other. Their relationship grows strange. The longer their child is
missing, the more they break down. The more the detectives break down. &
the further & further away the missing child seems.

Open Roles

*Jane (Mother):* Woman; 26-40 years old; wears a simplistic dress in
neutral tones

*John (Father): *Man; 26-40 years old; wears a tie, white button-up shirt,
tailored pants, well-worn

suit, his shoes have holes in them

*Son: *Boy; 7-10 years old; mismatched clothing; unkempt hair

*Detective Peterson: *Man; 30-50 years old

*Detective Hugh: *Any; 26-45 years old; preferably short

*Mr. Jones:* Man; 50s; friendly

*Mrs. Jones: *Woman; 40s; wears bright pink lipstick


*Narrator/Stage Directions: *Any age, etc.
