Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its
live-streamed concert series with Cleveland-based vocalist Dane Vannatter
on February 14, 2021, at 2 pm. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Vannatter will
sing the romantic songs of Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin and other
songwriters of the Great American Songbook. Dane will be accompanied by Joe
Hunter on piano.

About Dane Vannatter

Dane Vannatter is the recipient of two Bistro Awards from BackStage in New
York, for Outstanding Vocalist and for his second CD Flight. Dane has been
acclaimed by reviewers at The New York Post, The Boston Globe and BackStage
for a style that “blends facets of cabaret and jazz with intelligence and
care.” The Boston Globe remarks “Dane Vannatter’s distinctive style leaves
an imprint on whatever music he sings. His voice has a floating quality
that gets in your head and won’t leave…. his music is a swinging, soaring
adventure!” Dane has been nominated for 4 MAC awards and is a Nightlife
Award finalist. Dane was featured at the annual Mabel Mercer Cabaret
Convention at Town Hall in Manhattan and has performed in venues nationally
and internationally. Dane sings regularly at Cleveland’s Nighttown and his
most recent Give Me Something Real was released in 2016 to much critical
acclaim.

Joe Hunter has been playing piano professionally since 1978 and his
versatility has garnered him work with an array of artists. He attended
Cleveland State University where a 1979 exchange program in Rio De Janeiro
fueled his fascination for Brazilian rhythms. He returned to Brazil in 1981
to study at the Universidade Gamma Filho. From 1987 to 1996 he served on
the Conservatory of Music faculty at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio,
He has performed with many national artists including Conti Condoli, Tito
Puente, and Scott Hamilton, and is a favorite at many JazzFest events. Joe
has been with the Tri-C Jazz Studies program for several years and is
co-host of the popular Song Is You! Series produced by Tri-C JazzFest.
