Millennial Theatre Company to Return to Live Performances and Hold
Auditions for Shrek the Musical!

The Millennial Theatre Company will hold auditions for various roles,
ranging from the title role of Shrek to various ensemble tracks, for Shrek
the Musical!

Youngstown, Ohio- The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is proud to announce
their return to live theatre with *Shrek the Musical!* MTC will hold
virtual auditions for various open roles within their production of Shrek
the Musical. Those interested in auditioning can email a video audition to
millennialtheatrecompany at gmail.com, along with a list of potential
conflicts, role(s) of interest, and their resume (if applicable). Videos
should include a song of choice in the style of the show. Once the video
has been received, cuts from the script will be sent. Videos must be sent
by June 9 to be considered.

MTC will perform the production August 13-15 at the Crestview Performing
Arts Center in Columbiana. The show will be directed by Joe Asente with
music direction by Savannah Florkowski and choreography by Aubrie Morrison.
Rehearsals will take place weeknights from 6-9pm in Youngstown and Girard
starting June 30th. All actors will need to supply proof of a completed
COVID-19 vaccination to perform. Unvaccinated actors are welcome to
audition but must agree to complete their vaccine regimen before starting
rehearsals. Actors 16+ will be considered.



MTC’s production of Shrek the Musical was originally scheduled to perform
in March of 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. While most
of the actors are returning to their roles, these auditions seek to fill
the vacancies in the cast, including the title role of Shrek, Dragon,
Gingy, as well as various featured ensemble tracks.

Shrek the Musical tells the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a
life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess
who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an
attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind
of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his
name is Shrek.
