[NEohioPAL] REMINDER - Auditions for NEW PLAY WORKSHOP – Potential Staged Reading in Fall/Winter 2021/2022

Have you ever wanted to be part of the workshopping process? Wanted to originate a character in a brand-new show? Wanted direct access to tell the playwright to their face all of your opinions and have them heard? If so, this might be the opportunity for you.
Local playwright Brandi Eaton (Matt’s First Real Thanksgiving) has scripted a new full-length dramedy about the interpersonal workings of a family – and this time you can be part of it!

Auditions will be held in-person as well as virtually.

For a virtual audition (for those who are not fully vaccinated yet or who are unable to attend the in-person audition) – Please submit a monologue or a reading from the script (YouTube or Dropbox/Other video sharing site links preferred) to beaton2922 at gmail.com before July 26th, 2021.

For an in-person audition (for those who are fully vaccinated and are able to attend) – Please sign up through the Sign-up Genius link - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080944AEAB2EA7F94-auditions for a slot. The auditions will be held on Sunday, July 25th from 2 pm – 5 pm at Twin Masks Performing Arts Center. The address is 9076 Church St, Twinsburg, OH 44087.

We will be conducting an initial table read on August 15thfrom 2 pm – 5 pm to kick-off the workshopping process. Once we have solid dates for a Staged Reading we will schedule the rehearsals around the availability of the cast and creative team.

Title: Pulling Back the Curtain

Synopsis: Three adult children of a former movie star and a celebrated auteur are reunited in their mother’s home for a wedding. Tensions flare, secrets are revealed, and more than one occasion of name-dropping is witnessed.

Maggie Gray – (30s – 40s, Female) – was once a high-powered attorney, now runs a non-profit. Was adopted by Sidney and Vivian

Lillian Lawrence – (20s – 30s, Female) – works for a non-profit, about to be married to Maggie.

Melanie Gray – (30s, Female) – actress

David Ford – (30s – 50s, Male) – movie director, Melanie’s husband

Roman Gray – (30s – Same Age as Melanie, Male) – aspiring director

Vivian Flynn – (Timeless, Female) – was once a very famous actress, currently is a sensation on social media

Phebe Gray – (Timeless plus a few years, Female) – Sidney’s sister, aunt and sister-in-law to this motley crew

(The mentioned characters of Sidney Gray and Lane are not seen on stage)
