[NEohioPAL] Case Western Reserve School of Medicine is once again looking for Actors

Hello,

The Simulation Center at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine is once
again looking for actors of many demographics (18 and over) to portray
patients for Medical Education Learners.

Most needed are:

·         Males able to play under 40 (20s and 30s Very Needed!)

·         Females of (or able to play) childbearing years (18-40)!

·         Any age - Native Spanish Speakers –

o   for a Medical Spanish Interview program several afternoons in Oct, Nov
and Dec 2021

You can help train the next generation of Doctors!  We will train you to
portray a patient so students* can practice interviewing, physical exam and
professionalism.  Our Standardized Patients (SPs) are employed as
Independent Contractors and work according to their individual availability
and interest (work as little or as much as you’d like).

Most programs are held in person Monday through Friday between 8 am and 5
pm.  SPs are recruited about 4-6 weeks in advance and trained before the
beginning of the program.  Programs are a minimum of 2 hours long (most are
longer) plus 2 hours of training (SPs are reimbursed at $20 an hour for
both the training and the program).

While we do record most sessions and require our SPs to sign an extensive
video release, be aware that (due to student privacy laws) the videos are
only used for student review, SP training and research.  Any video shot for
group education or other publication would need to be expressly recruited
and documented outside of normal programs.
