Solon Center for the Arts is accepting applications for a Part-Time Theater
Instructor for upcoming theater classes and productions.  Approximately
5-10 hours per week with additional hours for special events/programs.
Hours may increase during the summer.

   - Youth Theater Classes (Tuesday & Thursday afternoon/evening)
   - Production Rehearsals (Tuesday & Thursday evening)
   - Additional hours for special events/programs and summer camps

Qualified applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Theater
from an accredited institution or have related work or performance
experience equivalent to such a degree. Graduate experience is a plus.
Interested applicants must have a minimum two (2) years of experience
working as a Theater Instructor/Director.  Applicants knowledgeable in any
or multiple styles listed are preferred; improv, acting basics, musical
theater, youth theater.

Responsibilities include:

   - Create lessons, plan, prepare, and instruct classes
   - Instruct tech week rehearsals and performance
   - Create a vision for the show; including props, costumes, and set design
   - Implement weekly dance camps during summer
   - Class instruction will be in-person and/or virtual

Candidates for this position will work closely with the Theater Department
Coordinator and must be able to work with students of all ages and skill
levels, with a specific focus on school-aged children.  Applicants must be
professional and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom
and will be the lead instructor during rehearsals.  In addition, the
applicant should possess excellent problem solving, organizational, and
interpersonal skills.  Applicants must be able to work in a team
environment.

This position is slotted as a P3 on Solon’s part-time wage scale which
offers a starting range from $17.00/hour. Compensation will be determined
based upon previous education, performance, and teaching experience.
