Twin Masks Performing Arts Center is excited to announceauditions for The Meeting, by Jeff Stetson.  Set in 1965, the play is animagined meeting between Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. after thebombing of Malcolm X's home.

"Fascinating and dramatically compelling, this eloquentplay depicts the supposed meeting of two of the most important men of moderntimes: Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Differing in theirphilosophies, but alike in their mutual respect, the two men debate theirvarying approaches to the same grave social problems, both prepared to die fortheir beliefs, but neither aware of how soon their assassin's bullets wouldawait them."

 

Audition Dates:  December 20 & 21, starting at 7:00PM.

Actors will be reading from the script for these auditions.

 

The roles:

Malcolm X: African-American, 39 years old.  Tall andthin.  

Dr. Martin Luther King: African-American, 36 yearsold.  Tall and stocky.

Rashad: African-American, similar age to Malcolm X. Fit.  Malcolm X's driver/bodyguard.

     The actor in this role must becomfortable handling a pistol.

Twin Masks has very strict policies regarding vaccinationand mask wearing.  All actors and staff for the production must show proofof vaccination, and audience members must wear masks while on thepremises.
