Auditions for *Silent Sky*

   - *Wednesday, March 9 from 7:00 – 9:00PM*
   - *Thursday, March 10 from 7:00 – 9:00PM*

This historical drama by Lauren Gunderson is based on the true story of
Henrietta Leavitt.  The play is set in the early 1900s at the Harvard
Observatory.  As a woman, Leavitt is not allowed to touch a telescope or
express an original idea. Instead, she joins a group of women “computers,”
charting the stars for a renowned astronomer who calculates projects in
“girl hours” and has no time for the women’s probing theories. As
Henrietta, in her free time, attempts to measure the light and distance of
stars, she must also take measure of her life on Earth, trying to balance
her dedication to science with family obligations and the possibility of
love. The show will be directed by Ryan Bergeron.

Auditions will take place at the Broadview Heights Spotlights, 9543
Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. You may prepare a brief
monologue if you like. Call backs, if necessary, will be on Saturday, March
12.

Rehearsals will begin the week of March 14.  The show runs May 6 – 21,
2022. Auditioners are asked to bring a list of conflicts from March 14
through May 21.
