Based on the 1992 Disney film of the same name, this rousing musical is 
based on the newsboys strike of 1899. Featuring a Tony Award-winning 
score by Alan Menken (Little Mermaid, Aladdin) and Jack Feldman, and 
book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots), this show is 
sure to stir your soul and put a smile on your face. Seize the day!

  * Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is a volunteer performance
    organization and does not offer contracts.


      AUDITION PREP:

  * Bring your theatrical resume (if any)
  * Bring a photo or headshot for the production team’s reference.
  * Bring up to 32 bars of sheet music in the style of the show and in
    your desired key. An accompanist will be provided.
  * Be prepared to dance. Bring tap shoes if you have them/and or any
    dance skill you may have.


      OTHER DETAILS:

  * You must show Proof of COVID Vaccination before auditions. Please
    wear a mask while inside Chagrin Valley Little Theatre.
  * Minors: For actors under age under age 16, if cast, we will require
    a parent to be present during the rehearsal process.
  * If you are unable to audition in person, we will accept video
    submissions. Videos must include 2 vocal pieces, introduction of
    self and why interested in /Newsies/, a self-choreographed dance
    piece and any tap, tricks or acrobatics you may wish to share.
    Submission will need to be sent by April 22nd 2022 at 9pm. Contact
