Each year, the Homeless Stand Down event is held to provide services and a day of respite for the homeless veterans of Northeast Ohio.
This year it is on:
Saturday, April 23 from 10-2:00 at Browns Stadium

I have worked in the children's area to watch over little ones while their parents chat with some of the service agencies. We have found a pattern of not a lot of children attend or else are kept with their parent so this year is going to be different. In fact, a first in many ways:

First time in April (the usual date is January/February but with COVID restrictions we waited to be sure we could gather in person)
First time at First Energy/Browns Stadium (we will be using the first floor concourse area, which encircles the entire stadium)
First time to have a broader offering of entertainment (not just a children's area)

And this is where, hopefully, you come in! Because there will be a circular flow, we thought we could offer some entertainment that would either be stationary in one of the open areas or else move about to where a line has formed. (Everyone will enter through one gate and work their way around to the exit but there's no telling where holdups may occur.) I was wondering if you might be available to read your book, share some of your terrific stories, visit with folks in line, something else? I'll be honest and tell you that your performance would be out of the goodness of your heart as I have no budget although we expect around 1,500 guests and I'm guessing almost as many volunteers.

I have many time slots open for you to choose ½ hour, 1 hour, however long you choose. Do you think you could join us?
Do you have suggestions for other entertainment?

Thank You for Your Time and Consideration,
