AVAILABLE ROLES:

BENNETT RIGGS- 30’sgay male any ethnicity - speech writer for a senator. Cautiously optimistic.Affable. Conflicted. Actor should be comfortable being shirtless. Potentialback side exposure. 

 

ADAM LOWELL- 30’s gaymale any ethnicity - senators chief of staff. Undeniably appealing andcharmingly square. Love interest of Bennett. 

 

PEGGY MUSGROVE- 50’sBlack female - A black female republican. Genuine, nimble, witty. She has founda way to weaponize being othered. 

 

ABOUT THE PLAY:

Bennett is really trying to keep it together right now. Hebroke up with his boyfriend and moved in with his best friend, Cooper. It’selection season, and he’s the speechwriter for Georgia’s only gay statesenator, who’s engaged in a bloody campaign against a conservative darling.Then Bennett’s ex is attacked in the parking lot of a gay bar. Bennett andCooper are informed that the assault can’t be classified as a hate crime –because in Georgia, hate crimes against homosexuals don’t legally exist. Theirfrustration and fear eventually turn to rage as they realize “acceptance”simply isn’t enough. They’re still living in a society that relegates them tosecond-class status. They’re not respected. They’re not feared. It’s time forthat to change.

ABOUT THE AUDITIONS:

Auditions will consist of reading sides from the script.

April 30th, 3-5 PM 

May 1st, 1-3 PM

Auditions will occur at the LIMINIS Theatre, 2438 ScrantonRd. Cleveland, OH 44113.

Auditions will be 20 minute time slots. 

PRODUCTION DATES:

Thursday- Saturday July 8th – 30th,2022
