MTC to Hold Auditions for Singers and Dancers for Grease the Musical At The
Youngstown Playhouse Starting Tomorrow!

Youngstown, Ohio- The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is holding auditions
for Grease the Musical, in collaboration with The Youngstown
Playhouse. Auditions will be held at The Youngstown Playhouse (600
Playhouse Lane, Youngstown, Ohio 44511) on May 12 from 6-9pm, May 13 from
6-9pm, and May 14 from 12-3pm. Rehearsals are projected to begin on May 23.
All performers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by the first day of
rehearsals. Those who have received their two-dose vaccine (Moderna or
Pfizer) more than six months ago will be required to get a booster shot.
Those who have received their one dose vaccine (Johnson and Johnson) will
be required to receive a second dose. Proof of vaccination will be required
before the first rehearsal.

*Grease the Musical* performs July 29-31 and August 5-7 at The Youngstown
Playhouse with rehearsals running Monday-Friday from 6-9pm. Directed by Joe
Asente, with music direction by Anthony Ruggiero and choreography by Aubrie
Morrison.

Auditioners (ages 16+) should prepare a 30-60 second cut of a song in the
style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. There will also be a
cold read from the script. Please come dressed comfortably and prepared to
learn a short dance combination. Dancers interested in non-singing roles
are also welcome, and will only be asked to complete the dance portion of
the audition (no reading or singing necessary). All roles are open.
Non-union, unpaid.

Grease the Musical tells the story of Rydell High’s senior class of 1959:
duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and their gum-snapping,
hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby-sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look
and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny
Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of
their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way
through all the hit songs that have become the soundtrack of a generation!
