Ohio Shakespeare Festival in Akron, Ohio seeks to immediately hire the following positions. [ www.ohioshakespeare.com ]( http://www.ohioshakespeare.com )
 
 
Technical Intern
Full time, $300/week; beginning late May, ending mid August
No housing available for this position
This paid position is ideal for someone who would like to learn more about how an outdoor professional theatre operates from the technical side. While the intern will assist all tech managers throughout the summer, they will also be allowed the opprotunity to learn each managers’ craft. The Tech Intern will assist managers in many ways, including but not necessarily limited to, the following throughout the summer season:
Set construction—assist with simple construction, load in/out during build and strike
Lighting —assist with lighting package installation and strike, including focusing and other basic electrics work
Wardrobe—assist with laundry, loading and unloading costumes, picking up/dropping off dry cleaning, potentially some basic mending
House Management—assist as needed
Stage Management—be the primary contact between stage management and greenroom/dressing room during performance
Properties—assist in gathering/creating props
Administration—assist as needed
Ideal candidates will:
Have a passion for learning and participating in the technical aspects of theatre
Be detail oriented and organized
Be able to arrange their own transportation
Be willing to lift heavy objects
Be willing to work outdoors
Have a friendly and positive attitude
Have day and evening availability (hours will never exceed 40/week; Mondays always off entirely; additional off days are guaranteed but scattered throughout the summer)
Be flexible and willing to fill in wherever is helpful each day
Ages 16 and older may apply.
Actors/Designers working with Ohio Shakespeare in summer 2022 may not apply as the hours will conflict.

Scenic Carpenter
Part time, weekly pay based on applicant’s level of skill and availability; 5 weeks in May/June, 2 weeks in August; potentially flexible start and end dates 
No housing available for this position
This paid position is ideal for someone with intermediate to advanced carpentry skills. This person will assist the Production Manager/Master Carpenter and participate in the construction and then the strike of the outdoor summer set.
Ideal candidates will:
Have intermediate to advance carpentry skills. 
Be willing to lift heavy objects
Be willing to work outdoors
Have a friendly and positive attitude
Ages 16 and older may apply.
Actors/Designers working with Ohio Shakespeare in summer 2022 may apply as the hours do not conflict.

Box Office
Part time, $15/hour
Thursdays-Sundays 5pm-8:30pm, July 7 - August 15
Three part time positions for the summer box office are available, and will include the following duties:
Work directly under the House Manager and assisting him as needed on show nights.
Open the box office each evening
Help House Manager clear the house of any clutter/wipe down seats
Check in patrons
Sell tickets on site
Answer patron questions/concerns, interact with the public
Close down box office each evening
Ideal candidates will:
Have few or no conflicts
Be gracious and patient with patrons
Be able to arrange their own transportation
Be friendly and positive with other OSF staff
Be comfortable with simple computer skills or willing to learn
Be punctual and consistent 
Be willing to work outdoors

Three part time positions for the summer box office are available, and will include the following duties:
Working directly under the House Manager and assisting him as needed on show nights.
Open and set up the merchandise tent each evening
Keep inventory of stock
Sell merchandise before show and during intermission
Ideal candidates will:
Have few or no conflicts
Be gracious and patient with patrons
Be able to arrange their own transportation
Be friendly and positive with other OSF staff
Be comfortable with simple tablet skills or willing to learn
Be punctual and consistent 
Be willing to work outdoors
