* “Follies,” is still recognized as the high-water mark of the serious
"concept" musical 52 years later (opening on April 4, 1971) and is rarely
performed.  With lyrics and music by the late Stephen Sondheim and a book
by James Goldman, "Follies" imagines the reunion of ex-Follies performers
amid a crumbling theatre, soon to be razed for a parking lot. *


*Amid the reminiscing, two middle-aged couples confront some unpleasant
truths about their past and present, coming face-to-face with not only
their future but their past selves. The former stars of the Follies relieve
memories and stumble through old numbers and somewhat magically experience
their old hits from Broadway's past in the Sondheim songs. *


*AUDITIONS by video only. Please prepare one 32  bar cut of your preferred
Sondheim song. Piano accompaniment strongly preferred, acapella accepted.

6 between 1:00 AND 4:00 PM at Lakeland Community College. *

*VIDEOS due by August 1! Callback invitations will be announced no later
than August 3. *


*UNFORTUNATELY, no Equity contracts at this time. *


*Rehearsals begin in December and will be held in-person in Lakeland
Community College's Performing Arts Center.  Performances are three (3)
shows a week from Friday, February 3 through Sunday, February 19, 2023. *
